About IIIT Agartala
The Indian Institute of Information Technology Agartala (IIIT Agartala) is one of the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (PPP) in the country, set up with the objective of making available facilities for higher education, research and training in various fields of Information Technology.
The Ministry of Education (formerly MHRD), Government of India established IIIT Agartala on a Not-for-profit Public Private Partnership (N-PPP) basis. It was declared an Institute of National Importance on 4 February 2020 by an Act of Parliament under the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (Public-Private Partnership) Act, 2017.
IIIT Agartala is a joint venture of the Ministry of Education, Government of India; the Government of Tripura; and industry partners. The institute currently operates from its campus at its Mentor Institute, NIT Agartala, where all facilities are provided to the students of IIIT Agartala.
Mentor Institute
The National Institute of Technology Agartala (NIT Agartala) serves as the Mentor Institute for IIIT Agartala, providing academic and administrative guidance.
